Creation Illustrated is published quarterly (beginning in Fall 1993) as a private, nonprofit, non-denominationally owned ministry dedicated to the eternal impact of sharing Biblical truth and character-building lessons through the blessings of God's creation. The editors and publishers are a Christian couple, Tom and Jennifer Ish, who homeschooled their daughter, Melissa, and have dedicated their lives to serving God by providing positive choices in reading material for the whole family.
Our purpose is to share the wonders of God's creation. By revealing fresh insights of His infinite wisdom, gentle touch, undeniable justice, redeeming love, and flawless design, pure truth shall bring renewed peace. Each part of this publication is offered as a reprieve from the daily rigors of life so that all can look to the future with unbridled gratitude and hope
Here is an overview of Current Projects Needing Grant Funds
To fund our Christian nature publication, Creation Illustrated, into prisons to help build character, hope, faith, and personal transformation. We ship the publication in bulk to prison chaplains and prison ministries who need quality material to share with prisoners. We have many letters of requests from prisoners who have previously received our publication.
Hospital Chaplain Ministry
Hospital Chaplains have limited budgets but need quality, uplifting material to share with patients, their families, hospital staff, and community contacts. We ship in bulk each quarter to some hospitals but need to expand this effort to the many Christian hospitals throughout the US. Some hospitals may be able to partially assist with the cost of the publication; others may not. The quantity to distribute and funding needed is large, but this can be done in a phased approach.
Funding needed to supply subscriptions to 16,000 Christian school libraries of our publication, Creation Illustrated. Readers call it, "The Christian answer to National Geographic!" It provides a balance of mental, spiritual, and physical enrichment with character building parables found in nature that point to biblical principles and eternal truth -- Christ's method of teaching the masses. Animal and bird features, outdoor adventures, Creation science, gardening, and nature activities all inspire readers to learn from their Creator.
With the onslaught of Digital Media, the print publishing world must adjust. We are developing new Digital content, digital marketing efforts, and a greater presence in the digital cyberspace realm. Funding is needed to expand in this area to compensate for lost exposure and revenue in print media. Contracting with experts in digital promotions is vital and underway but must be increased.
