I am excited to announce that I will be going on my first mission trip this summer! My home church, SouthCrest, is currently partnering with UK-USA Ministries in Northeast England. Their work there consists of working with the Youth For Christ Clubs in local schools, sports camps around the area, and church planting in cafe's and local venues. Over the past year they have helped plant several churches and have sent teams and missionaries to serve in this region. I will be traveling with a team from SouthCrest to the Tees Valley in Stockton England where less than 10% of the population are practicing Christians. While there, we will be leading sports camps for kids ages 5-18 years old, and engaging the local youth through spiritual conversations.
SouthCrest's vision/mission is to reach people for Christ by building relationships. I believe in that vision/mission with all my heart because my faith is a product of it. There are many amazing people and circumstances that attribute to my salvation, but one in-particular that God used was a group of guys in college that met me where I was at, welcomed me into their fold, told me the true Gospel, and Jesus saved me! And that's at the heart of the purpose of this mission trip. To engage the culture, meet the people where they're at, build relationships with the youth through physical activities, and tell them about Jesus. I would love to use this opportunity to embrace the great commission, to "go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that Jesus commanded us." (Matthew 28)
Local community mission work is important, but I also believe international missions are as well. They help us to better understand and love our neighbor, near and far. And to experience Gods will to see people of every nation saved. I think a lot of people would love to get involved by going, but I know we can't all go. So I would love for your partnership on this mission. I am going to be honest with you all, its a struggle for me to ask for help, especially when it comes to money, but I would love for whoever is lead to partner with me in a couple of ways:
1. Pray. Please pray for my team and I, and for this mission trip. I believe that God wants to do amazing things through this mission trip. Over 40 kids were saved last summer! Not to mention how the lord has used that in their community over the course of a year. So please join us in praying for Gods will to be done, to see more life change, and prayer over everything else having to do with this trip. For some of you this will be the only way that you can partner in this with me. I just want to tell you I think its just as important, if not more important, to have this trip blanketed in prayer. So thank you in advance for everyone who will pray.
2. I need to raise $2500. That covers the cost of my travel and accommodations. Lord willing, I would love to raise more than that. I would love to be able to help other people on my team raise the money they need to go on this trip, and have available resources to be able to give and sow into the ministry as needed once we arrive. Every donation amount helps, and 100% of everything raised will go towards our teams mission trip and the ministry.
Lord willing, your prayers and donations will be directly related to seeing people come to life in Christ. To see Jesus set captive souls free.
If you have any questions, or if you'd like to hear more information about the trip, please reach out to me.
