Hey, everyone! I would love to go this workshop and I was wondering if anyone would feel led to sponsor me. The cost is $175. Birth workshops come around fairly often, but this one is unique in that it is Christian and even has a segment on “The Presence of God in Labor.” For those outside of the birth work community, you may not realize how the majority of the community is actually opposed to God’s Word - “birthing person,” “chest feeding,” “abortion is healthcare,” “abortion doulas,” and so on… that is why I chose not to get certified through the leading organization DONA International. This reason is also why I have not gone to other workshops thus far, but here is a new opportunity to meet other Christian doulas, refresh my skills, expand my knowledge, practice a bit, and be encouraged by others who also view their work as ministry. For any new friends who may not know, my original certification program was covered by ministry fund-raising just like mission trips! I continue to do pro bono work for teens, single moms, and low-income households - using birth as an opportunity to share the love of Jesus, point to scripture, and encouraging the pursuit of God’s revealed will for families.
