Friends and family,
Welcome to my fundraising page! I am so thankful for you to even take the time to read about what is next for me and I am excited to share that opportunity with you.
I have accepted a year-long internship with International Justice Mission, beginning this September. IJM is a faith-based, non-profit, anti-human trafficking organization. I will be interning at the IJM Field Office in Thailand. My role with IJM will include project management, research, and aiding the Thailand IJM staff in other operations.
Since I learned about the injustice of human trafficking when I was in high school, it has been my dream to work alongside those that are seeking justice for the oppressed. Likewise, the more I grew in my faith, the more I understood the heart of God in seeking justice.
"Learn to do right! Seek justice, encourage the oppressed. Defend the cause of the fatherless, plead the case of the widow." -Isaiah 1:17
Please, join with IJM and me as we embark on the mission to free the oppressed. Since IJM is a non-profit organization, the internship I have accepted is an unpaid internship. The cost of living and working in Thailand is about $24,000. Would you consider supporting me financially in this work? Any donation, large or small, recurring or one-time, will go a great way in funding this internship.
There are more than 40 million slaves in the world today and the human trafficking industry itself generates 150 billion dollars a year. At first, these statistics were intimidating to me. It seems nearly impossible to seek justice for millions of people, especially those who are oppressed by those of power. However, with God, nothing is impossible. God is greatly concerned for the oppressed and hears their cry. I believe that with God, it is possible to bring justice to the poor.
"But if I were you, I would appeal to God; I would lay my cause before him. He performs wonders that cannot be fathomed, miracles that cannot be counted. He saves the needy from the sword in their mouth; he saves them from the clutches of the powerful. So the poor have hope, and injustice shuts its mouth."- Job 5:8-9; 15-16
Please also consider joining me in prayer. Pray for IJM as a whole and specifically for the Field Office in Thailand. Pray for the victims of human trafficking-for rescue and restoration. Pray for the perpetrators-for conviction and justice. Please also pray for my own preparation for the trip and my growth as I participate in the internship. I desire an open and teachable heart and an ever-growing desire for Jesus.
I would love to talk further with you about the internship and any questions you may have.
