On March 20th, our family received some incredibly difficult news. Baby Colton has been diagnosed with infantile spasms—frequent seizures—caused by a neonatal stroke that likely occurred before he was born. Christopher and Stephanie are taking things one day at a time as they navigate what this means and how best to care for their sweet baby. 

Colton was admitted to CHOC, where doctors performed an EEG, MRI, and several other tests to better understand the extent of the damage. They found that a small area of his brain tissue has been affected. While this is heartbreaking, there is hope—his brain is still growing and forming new connections.

Colton will need ongoing anti-seizure medication, as well as occupational and speech therapy, to give him the best chance at a full and healthy life. With his hospital stay, treatments, and future care, medical expenses are already beginning to add up quickly.

We’re hoping to raise $10,000 to help ease this financial burden so Christopher and Stephanie can focus fully on Colton’s care and progress.
