As you know Caden has not had the easiest start to life, after a long NICU stay & multiple surgeries that ended with an ostomy bag he was finally able to come home. Since coming home he has been thriving so much so that we are planning another trip down to Boston to reverse his ostomy and finally get rid of the bag. Due to all his medical issue and the care he needs I have not been able to return to work.

I thought we were finally moving towards the light at the end of the tunnel - unfortunately we took a detour and are still finding our way back. On February 4th I brought Caden to the emergency room as he was refusing to eat and what ever he was able to get down came right back up. He has since been hospitalized since February 4th. 

Since then - Caden has had RSV, he had surgery for a Gtube placement, he was transferred back & forth between Wentworth Douglas and Massachusetts General Hospital. Right now he is in Boston over an hour away from home fighting off the infection that has taken over his colon. He has been unable to gain weight and sits at a mer 12 pounds at almost 7 months. 

At this time we will be discussing the possibility of another surgery to remove his colon next week. His fourth surgery in less then seven months. 

As I have not been able to return to work due to going back and forth between Boston and home to make sure I am caring for all the boys. I am asking for some help, bills are piling up again and I’m drowning. Anything & everything helps. Thank you!

04/13 Update: Just got the call from Cadens team of doctors, he’s getting a colectomy next Monday. This will be his fourth surgery in under seven months of life. Each time gets harder and harder. He’s such a strong little guy. 🩵
