Hello! Thank you very much for your interest in supporting the "Brighter Days Ahead Scholarship"!

Over the past decade, my life has been shaped by going through the transplant journey.

From diagnosis to transplantation, I have been blessed to have a support system that refused to let me quit and it’s my turn to be that person for patients who is facing a similar situation.

The scholarship will be one $500 scholarship for a student currently waiting for a transplant and one $500 scholarship for a student who has received a transplant to be used for classes, books, or even rent. If more funds are raised, more awards will be given.

I know firsthand how overwhelming trying to pursue higher education while trying to balance school, work, a social life, as well as being a transplant patient can be. With your help. we can allow for some relief for these individuals and allow for some peace of mind as they pursue their given academic path.

My goal is to run a half marathon per month in 2023 to raise the funds for these students.

The criteria for the scholarship will be:

Must be enrolled as a full-time student in a place of higher education (college or trade school with verification).

Must write a two page (maximum) essay on how the transplant process has impacted them as well as how they plan on using their given area of study to impact others who are in need of an organ donation. (Due August 1, 2023)

Must be in good academic standing at their place of higher education.

If you fit this description or know someone who would be a great candidate for this award please feel to send me a message via email (1992jgt@gmail.com), facebook (Jt Thomas), Instagram (jontomis), or LinkedIn and we will start the process.

The recipient of this inaugural award will be announced Spring 2024.

Thank you!
