Thank you all so much for your generous support! Sorry it's taken so long to get an update out.
Home and adjusting well
Bill was able to come home from the rehabilitation hospital on Wednesday and is adjusting quite well. He can get around the house in his wheelchair like a pro. It’s truly remarkable how much his health seems to have improved after the surgery. His pain level is lower than it’s been in years! God has been so faithfu!!
Doctor visits this week
He has an appointment with the prosthetic clinic tomorrow to get fitted for a new shrinker sock. The socks help the leg to shrink down to normal size to get ready for his prosthetic leg. The timing on getting a leg depends on how long it takes for the leg to heal, so there is no set timeline for this to happen.
On Wednesday, Bill has a follow up appointment with the surgeon’s office to get the staples removed then an appointment with his primary care doctor. We have been quite pleased with how well the doctors and hospitals have worked together to provide such great care!
Coming Soon - Driving training
At some point in the coming months, Bill will need to do some driver training and get his car fitted with hand controls so he will be able to drive again. This is probably one of the greatest expenses coming up.
