1,000,000. It’s a BIG number. And when that number represents vulnerable children who don’t know the love of a mother or father, it becomes more than digits on a screen. Even more staggering is that 98% of these abandoned children have some form of disability. There are nearly one million lives that hang in the balance– lives that are unwanted by many, little hearts hoping beyond hope that they might one day experience love.
Love. That’s what I desire to be and show and give this summer as I serve with Bring Me Hope, pointing these kiddos to the Greatest Love as we run summer camps for China’s most vulnerable people group: its orphans.
While there, I’ll be assigned to a “family group” with a translator and one or two of these precious children each week where they’ll experience (often for the first time) the undivided attention of caring adults. For many of them, this is the only time they’ll leave the orphanage so we’ll make the most of it by experiencing all the things children should: swimming, playing games, sharing stories, singing songs, and showing them a Love greater then they dared dream! Once camp finishes, I’ll be able to advocate for my buddies by name in hopes to find their forever families.
This summer, I have the opportunity to serve China’s orphans. An opportunity to be present with them and to love them, to be a light that shows them the brightest Hope.
My goal is raise $2,119 which will cover the expenses of getting 4 orphans and myself to camp. Every gift, no matter the size will have a lasting impact on the lives of these kids.
Bob Goff in his book Love Does said, “I used to think you had to be special for God to use you, but now I know you simply need to say yes.”
Will you say “YES!” with me through your prayer and financial support so these orphans might know first hand that they are wanted and loved?
