"Children Going Hungry" : Diane was heartbroken when she encountered small children who hadn't eaten for three days while visiting the townships surrounding Pietermaritzburg, South Africa. Inspired to act, Project Gateway, a church-based NGO, together with Abelusi KZN, embarked on a mission to turn despair into hope.

We began modestly with just two community gardens, but through determination and collaboration, we've expanded to 11 flourishing gardens that are transforming lives. These gardens are not just feeding mouths—they're feeding souls, empowering communities, and sowing the seeds for a brighter future. 

Our aspiration is bold: to cultivate 40 community gardens, creating self-sufficiency and resilience across our townships. To achieve this, we need your help.
