Colin and Theresa Ventrella, our dear friends and faithful Christians from Florida, could really use our help.

They have been met with incredible trials these last few weeks. While Theresa was in the hospital in labor with their fourth child two days before Lent began, she and Colin received news that their oldest daughter, Sophia, was found at the bottom of a swimming pool. Thankfully, Sophia was rescued and CPR performed immediately. Although her heart stopped beating and defibrillation was not successful, she beat the odds, making a stunning recovery and walking out of the hospital 5 days after admission. She seems to be functioning normally at present, though she awaits a slew of appointments with specialists. This little girl is truly a walking miracle!

In the midst of it all, Theresa gave birth to a beautiful baby boy, Raphael. After only a week, baby Raphael was rushed to the ER and then flown to a hospital due to a potentially life-threatening blood infection (neonatal sepsis). Again, thanks to God, he has been released but he is currently below birth weight. We need to keep praying for his growth and recovery.

As you can imagine, Theresa and Colin, parents of three young kids and now a newborn, have not been able to catch their breath or a break!

All of this has happened to them while Colin, a gifted and faithful Christian, husband and father, awaited approval for his entrance to Holy Cross Seminary this Fall with an eye towards the priesthood. His trajectory on the path of potential priesthood and his path to seminary was all but confirmed even during this time of trials for the family.

Both are unimaginably thankful for God saving their daughter Sophia and now are praying for a similar miracle for their baby Raphael. Colin has been faithfully working hard to provide for his growing family as a corrections officer, while Theresa spends her days caring for the children. Having four children less than five years old is challenge enough, and now they face numerous medical needs and appointments as well as all the accompanying overwhelm and exhaustion.

The Ventrellas could most certainly use financial support at this time. With all they have been through and all they are facing, including a potential move this summer to attend seminary, the last thing on their minds should be worrying about finances. All funds raised here will go to cover their expenses, especially for their recovering newborn, the costs of any specialized treatment their daughter Sophia might face, and their upcoming move.
