HELP US REBUILD this amazing ICONIC building; Prior Lake VFW Post 6208, with a donation to our Veterans of Foreign Wars Capital Campaign!
VFW Post 6208 is not a Just-a-Bar!
It's a Warm Meeting spot in winter for Vets,
It's a cold beer joint and a spot to place your bets...
A Viking Lodge to tell stories about the one that didn't get away.
A boat trailer parking spot while the driver buys PULL-TABs to 'Play'
It's a quiet date night spot for the parents while they dine,
Ladies night out; dressed to the 'nines...
Weddings, Anniversaries or Party for your Birthday,
Cornhole Tourney's, or BINGO nights to Play...
Marine Corps Birthday Ball to drink and fight,
Poker Run rally-point, MEAT-Raffles, Steak Fry Night...
Burger Nights, Gun-Raffles, and Pancake Breakfasts'.
A place to meet your friends just for the Heck of it...
As our Post home continues its transformational renovation we have discovered some structural wall damage showing unsafe roof loads and crumbling interior support structures as well as a few other items that have resulted in the exhaustion of our contingency funds. It is in this spirit that we are asking friends and supporters of the VFW to kindly consider a Tax-Deductible donation.
Summarizing the updated status of our amazing project: I offer the following: Phases I and Il completed new handicap ramps, a new Bar, new office and storage spaces, upgrades to plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems, widened entrance door, and has added a required front staircase entryway to the lower floor per State Fire Code. This vast endeavor required us to plan for and complete many Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) ‘Accessible Design’ improvements. We added Phase III which provided more dedicated ADA bar and dining service space, as well as creating a new handicap accessible stage. Furthermore, once our building loan is paid down, we will be pursuing a proposal to transform our lower level into a first-class veteran lounge and conference center. Finally, we will be adding a much-anticipated elevator-lift to make our lower-level ADA compliant.
Please share this info with family, friends, and business associates to assist the effort further; the QR code is in the header of this letter. We are now poised to begin the second fundraising effort; a long overdue VFW Post 6208 Memorial Brick Program. We are hopeful that these modifications will create a more positive inclusive space, allowing for more productive outreach and increased support to Veterans, their families, and the local community. Despite this shortfall we will continue to fight to keep the project on schedule with a targeted soft opening date of October 6th.
On behalf of our local veterans and their families, many thanks for considering this heartfelt request.
Sincerely,
Yours in Comradeship,
Major Scott J. Kiger, / USMC (Retired)
