On the 29th of October, The Nicavangelists will depart for our SECOND (woot woot!) domestic tour within Nicaragua. On the back of our Bluefields outreach tour, we’re over-the-moon and are anticipating great things!
We’re headed to Granada! OUR MISSION is to share our HOPE IN GOD, NICARAGUAN CULTURE and EXPLOSIVE TALENTS!
Granada is a city not far from our home (An hour's drive), with a population of around 50,000 people (9th largest city in Nicaragua). Granada is historically one of Nicaragua's most important cities, economically and politically. It has a rich colonial heritage.
On the banks of Lake Nicaragua (Central America’s largest fresh water lake, containing 1,000 islands), Granada had a thriving Indigenous population and is thought to be the first city in mainland America colonized by the Europeans (It was the first city in the Americas to be registered in Spain).
Attacked many times by French, English and Dutch pirates over the years, Granada was also the site where American William Walker took up residence and attempted to take control of Central America and create economies based on slavery, before he was murdered.
Granada has fought for years with the northern city of León over political control of Nicaragua. The city of Granada was favored by the conservatives, while Léon was favored by the liberals. For many years there was conflict that at times became quite violent between the cities' families and political factions. In the mid-19th century a compromise site was agreed upon and the capital of Managua was finally established between the two rival cities.
Granada has long been a center of commerce, including timber, gold and silver. Granada's economy continues to grow as it is becoming a hub for tourism, but it also has fertile agricultural land and mass produces organic coffee and cacao, cattle, plantains and bananas.
The Nicavangelists Outreach tour will be 3 days. We are taking 50 youths and mums (The investment is just $10 per child). Please pray for us as we attempt to share our hope, culture and talent in Granada, a city with a changing demographic, rich history and major western influence.

"Beloved children, our love can’t be an abstract theory we only talk about, but a way of life demonstrated through our loving deeds. We know that the truth lives within us because we demonstrate love in action, which will reassure our hearts in his presence." (1 John 3: 18-19)
Thank you for believing with us for a BRIGHT FUTURE for ALL Nicaraguan youth…
