I'm good for surgery per both the cardiologist and, as of today, also by my PCP. That stress is gone; at least mere paperwork will not prevent my surgery now!
Only several days till surgery!
Thanks so much for all your support and prayers!
Eight days until surgery! My PCP didn't feel comfortable giving pre-op approval without also obtaining cardiology approval. It has been incredibly difficult getting my cardiologist and my PCP to connect so approval can be put through. Somehow, there was an appointment slot available to see my cardiologist this Wednesday and I took it (I think your prayers are at work there). Approval from cardiology should not be an issue, since I have been informed multiple times that my heart is fine. Getting down to the wire here for approval here. Please keep up the prayers so I don't have to postpone surgery!
Last night was awful. I spent the evening feeling light-sensitive and achey (yes, technical term), but the worse was yet to come. I woke up at 1 am with whole head in immense pain that soon created nausea. I couldn't lay down, couldn't sleep, couldn't focus for two hours before it decreased to a level where I could eventually sleep while propped up in my bed. Ice didn't help and actually made it worse. I probably could have gotten some mild relief with heat, but was in too much pain to troubleshoot how to make that happen. Motrin is on my do-not-take list prior surgery. I am really looking forward to getting some symptom relief with this surgery! (2 weeks 1 day to go)
The picture below is from when I felt icky, but thought that sleep would help like in the past. I was proud of myself for getting a row knit on the surprise Christmas scarf for my neurosurgeon while laying down. There was no focus for knitting later.
