Dear Family and Friends,
As you may know, I am currently attending ministry school at Living Word Christian Center School of Ministry under the leadership of Dr. Bill Winston, located in Forest Park, IL (https://lwsom.org/about-us). As part of my 9-month training and prior to me graduating this June, I am embarking on fulfilling the most important requirement of all my learning, and that is, “putting hands and feet to my preparation and going out into the field.”
Which is why I am so excited to share with you about an opportunity I have to serve on a short-term mission trip to Costa Rica this month (May). On this trip, I and a team from school will be partnering with ‘Pastor Don’ (Korach) and his team at ‘Fe Mutua-Mutual Faith Ministries’ (http://www.femutua.org/dr-don-korach). We will join them in the greatest commission of all – being the hands and feet of Jesus and sharing God’s unfailing love with all who will hear.
So, Why Costa Rica?
We've all seen the commercials or heard how Costa Rica is famously known for being the great tourist attraction in Central America. With its exotic beaches, fascinating culture, and beautiful weather, it has become a vacationer’s paradise. And, while it’s true Costa Rica is more advanced than any other Central American country in terms of a good economy and quality of life, the real reality is that for many who live there, this is unfortunately not the case. The World Bank estimates that out of the 1.1 million people who live in Costa Rica, 25% of them live in poverty. Many of the people counted in these statistics are Nicaraguan immigrants, who make up half of the Costa Rican population. They come to the country in search of a better life and a higher standard of living, but what really happens is very shocking…
In recent years, Costa Rica has become the source, transit, and destination country for men, women, and children subjected to sex trafficking and forced labor. Many women and children there have been subjected to this horrible lifestyle at the hands of those who have used and abused them for money, food, sex, and just about practically anything.
For this mission, my primary focus is caring for and serving the women and children of Costa Rica who have been victimized by human trafficking and those who have been forgotten by society. Through sharing God’s love, I will be helping them experience unconditional love, emotional healing and life change through equipping and empowering them to mold the challenges of their past into hope-filled futures.
While I am both excited and grateful for this wonderful opportunity to help the helpless and to be a blessing to those who are in desperate need of love and emotional support, I do realize that the need is great and that…
I can’t do it alone; which is why, I’m asking you to join me on this journey.
I’d like to humbly ask you to consider supporting me financially for this trip. The total cost of this trip is $1300, and I am over the halfway point with $600 remaining. Any donation would be greatly appreciated to help me reach my goal. Your contribution will go a long way in providing the women and children with the proper tools and resources needed to restore their lives and encourage them for the journey ahead; as well as keepsakes for the women and toys for the children, and medical services and care for all.
Your contribution can be made safely and securely through this website and 100% of the funds I receive will be contributed to my trip. Along with your contribution, you have my commitment to pray for you and your family, as well as send you picture updates, interviews, and journal entries from my mission to let you know the impact your gift had on the lives of these women and children who greatly need our help.
Can I count on you to help me go?
Thank you in advance and may God abundantly bless you and your family!
