Hello all! 

I’m sorry it’s been so long since our last update! We’ve been updating all our crazy updates on social media, but thought we’d hop back on here to share our latest one. 

We were matched with our little girl back in the beginning of May, and have been working on paperwork to send over to India along with other online applications needed to be approved to move forward with our adoption. Thank God, we’ve been able to get a lot of things done and approved pretty quickly, and are already near the end stages of our adoption before traveling! We’ve been sent emails about travel details, which is very exciting! We are waiting for our Adoption Order, which has to do with the court system over in India to make her officially a “Pereyra”. Once we receive  our Adoption Order (in a month or so), we will be traveling a month or so after to go get her!

Happy Giving Tuesday everyone! We wanted to give you all an update on our adoption as well as let you know some ways you can support us :) 

Last week we were registered for CARINGS ( Child Adoption Resources Information & Guidance System)! This is a big step forward with a lot of paperwork submitted! Through CARINGS, India will come to know that our family is interested in adopting from their country. This is about a 3 month waiting process, as we wait for everything to go through. Once we are approved, we start the waiting process of getting matched with a little girl! 

Ways to support on this Giving Tuesday! 

-First, thank you to everyone who has prayed for our family! We know that prayer is “powerful and effective”, and we have felt all of your prayers, so THANK YOU! Without God, this process would be a lot more stressful! Please continue to pray for our family. For our patience as we wait, and for our little Sofia. 

-The drawings for a 3 day stay at our friends’ Ocean City Beach House is still open! We will be drawing a name in January sometime. Each drawing comes with a $150 donation. -Sofie’s Turtles! Danielle has been crocheting stuffed turtles to raise some money, and we have had so many interested and supporting in this way, with Danielle making almost 30 Turtles! The turtles are $30 & you can customize the colors as you wish! 

Thank you all again for your support and love for our family through this process! We are very blessed and thankful that God has called us to this path! 

We were told a couple of days ago that our Home Study is finalized! This is a HUGE step to be completed, and means we can move forward! Our next step is sending off some more paperwork that we have been working on to I800A & CARINGS. This is basically, in simple terms, letting US know we want to adopt and bring a child into the country and letting India know we are looking to adopt from their country. Once we send that paperwork off, it’s about a 3 month wait to be approved. After that we start the waiting time to get MATCHED WITH OUR GIRL! Which could be anywhere from one month to 10+ months. We don’t know. But we are waiting and leaving that in God’s hands, as we’ve been doing through this whole process. 

The other day we went to Annapolis to get 31 papers Apostilled (made even more “official”) for CARINGS and for the dossier (dossier paperwork is sent over to India once we are matched with a referral/little girl).  

Please continue to pray for us through this journey and for our precious little girl over in India. Praying that God holds her and that she stays safe and healthy. 

Now that all of our home study paperwork is sent in, we start home visits! We have 3 meetings with our home study worker, and we were blessed to be able to get one as soon as this Monday! One more will be in person, and the other we will be able to have virtually.  This is a time for them to be able to see us in person, see our home, and talk through some things concerning bringing our new child home.

We are very excited to be almost done all of our home study paperwork! This is the biggest “chunk” of work to get done on our end that we have been working on for the past couple of months! We will be collecting what needs to be notarized out of our paperwork within the next couple of weeks, and that will be one of the last steps of the home study process. We will have the dossier and other paperwork to do next, but it’s encouraging that our biggest step is almost done! 

After going over our checklist yesterday of things to do for our home study, we realized that we are pretty close to being done what needs to get done! We are almost ready to send it all in to our home study caseworker! 

This month we have a few things to finish up. Joan and Danielle finished their fingerprinting and Joan has finished his blood work and Dr visit. That just leaves Danielle and the boys Dr.s visits. Joan and Danielle also have their psych evaluation visits in a couple of weeks (Glad we can do this part together!) We have the Maryland sanitation inspection and the fire department inspection coming up to check the safety of our home also, which should be simple checks  :)

Hey all! We have a couple specific financial needs and prayer requests that are coming up! 

For India, we are required to get a Psychiatric evaluation, which will be coming up in a couple of weeks. This evaluation costs $1,600 for us to get done. 

An exciting thing coming up that we are preparing for right now is our home study . It  requires a lot of paperwork and different things to work through and it usually takes 2-3 months to complete. The home study’s cost will be $2,500-$3,000. 

We are excited to be moving forward, as each step done is one step closer to holding our little girl! Thank you all for your love and support!
