I have been invited to lead a ministry team to Nigeria in November, and need your help to make this trip possible.
This will be my 11th mission trip to Nigeria, and our most significant work to date. Our team will be ministering in 5 large cities in just over two weeks, speaking to tens of thousands of Nigerians from all walks of life. Our volunteer team there, which is organizing the effort, is comprised of dozens of established leaders from numerous, diverse congregations. Expectations are high for a huge harvest for the Lord!
Over the years, the ministry teams we've taken there have led teenagers and adults from the US, and ministered in conferences, churches, schools, orphanages, villages, and a leper colony. Leading 120 men to Christ one morning in a Nigerian prison is a particularly cherished memory.
I’ve come to know, love and admire our brothers and sisters in Christ who live there – and have seen their vital, strategic importance in the world. I believe Nigeria to be the front-lines of the battle of spiritual kingdoms in our generation.
While the northern part of Nigeria is under brutal Sharia law, the southern part can only be described as a modern-day Book of Acts. Reports of miracles, etc., occurring in Africa are true, and I’ve seen it with my own eyes! It’s a vibrant community of living faith like nothing I’ve seen anywhere else.
The clash of kingdoms is bloody. Nigerian Christians face daily persecution for their faith that is among the most brutal and widespread of anywhere in the world, with bombings, massacres, mutilation, kidnappings, etc., virtually nonstop. This is no exaggeration.
Yet, it is also the only nation on earth where radical Islam is being pushed back! Our brothers and sisters there are staring the enemy in the teeth – and standing strong. We would be wise to take note!
From the Dark Continent to the Continent of Light
The people are remarkable – bright, passionate, articulate, hard-working, creative, entrepreneurial, hopeful, honorable, family-centered and deeply moral. Did you know Nigerians living in America are the highest educated group here? Truly, all the traits that made America great – yet that are fading here – are alive and well in Nigeria.
I believe what man has long called the Dark Continent, God is raising up to be the Continent of Light in our generation, with Nigeria leading the way. They are forerunners for our generation. God has big plans for Nigeria!
In addition to their incredible strength of faith and character – tested by fire – God has touched the nation in other ways. It is the largest economy in Africa, and is predicted to be the fastest growing economy in the world through 2050. The population is young and vibrant. They are rich in natural resources. Like I said, God has big plans for them!
Their future is bright, their destiny is great … yet the battle is fierce. In addition to violent radical Islam, many other strongholds stand in their way.
I feel called by God to do all I can to sow into, edify, inspire and equip them for victory. This is what has driven me to return, over and over.
You can help advance Kingdom victory
Your contribution will help us continue to serve our brothers and sisters who live on the front lines. I believe that sowing into them at this vital time, with the empowering message of victory in Christ, will truly impact the world for generations to come and facilitate the advance of God's Kingdom in big ways.
About the amount needed
The actual cost of my trip is less than the $6,000 target. However, I seek to raise more -- as much as possible, really -- so that we may bless our ministry hosts when we leave. They are on the front lines, doing amazing work -- with orphans, the sick, the destitute, youth, elders, single mothers, and more. Their country doesn't have the "social safety net" that we have here, so it's up to the churches to take care of those less fortunate, and they do it well. That's why I'm always excited to leave behind as much for them as I can. Any amount raised above the costs of the trip will be given to fruitful, hands-on ministries in Nigeria.
Stay in the loop
It will be my honor to give you real-time trip progress reports, and a detailed summary upon our return. While traveling, our team will frequently post pictures, updates and prayer requests, as well as testimonials and thank-you's from the people we reach.
I also look forward to speaking in churches, schools and media upon my return, sharing stories from the front lines, to strengthen and inspire the Body here in the US.
ALL DONATIONS ARE TAX DEDUCTIBLE.
Thank you in advance for your prayers and generosity!
