“Then the King will say to those on His right hand, 'Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.'” Matthew 25:34-36
The Nicavangelists’ very first troupe member was a young man by the name of Aben, who was joined not too much later by one of his best friends, Beycker. Both of these young men have travelled with The Nicavangelists but have committed to spending the next few years developing Nica talent in the Nicavangelists’ home turf, Managua.
Both Beycker and Aben understand what it’s like to be a street kid. Each are fatherless and have had to fight for survival in their shanty world. Now they have progressed with their Tricking (Gymnastics combined with Martial Arts, and other movement genres) to a professional level, winning in each consecutive year Nicaragua’s premier Tricking Event, “Truco Caos Maestro Reunión (Stunt Master Chaos Gathering).”
Beycker and Aben are committed to doing all the hard work in setting up and facilitating Capital on the Edge’s latest project, the “Nica-Kidz’ Street Tricking School.” Your contribution will help us in paying for a trampoline ($300), renting some space for weekly classes ($20 per month) and paying Beycker and Aben a wage ($100 each, monthly).
We’ve already had our first day of classes, with 8 students “through our doors.” The classes are free to attend, and we project that within a month we’ll have approximately 100 students enrolled.
Thank you for believing in the hearts and lives of young Nicaraguans! We couldn’t do this without you…
