I have been invited back to Nepal as well as a first time to Nova Scotia this year so I have decided to put the two together in this fundraiser. What follows will be a little bit of information about both of them and what we will be doing in each area.
Due to the support both in prayer and finances ive received from those of you in the past, each trip has only been more and more successful as the Lord leads us in His work over seas. The Nova Scotia trip will be in the beginning of August and last for 7 days, while the Nepal trip is going to be in October for 2 weeks.
The main purpose of the 1-week-long mission in Nova Scotia will be to make the salvation of the lost number one priority. This is especially exciting in an area I’ve been told is in great need of this, and also with churches that are in need of modeling and encouragement in the area of evangelism. In that, as a team we're also going to be a bridge between the local church and the lost. We will encourage the church to invest in their city and region, and show the local church that evangelism and outreach can and should be done. Along with that, we will be helping the churches out there to become more involved with each other in the surrounding areas and to begin to work together since unity among churches is also something lacking. Finally and conclusively, we will demonstrate John 3:17, which says, “For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.”
The mission in Nepal will be twice as long as that in Nova Scotia, and our focus will be to encourage and help disciple the local believers in Jesus Christ, in a region we have yet to visit and which are in even greater need of encouragement. We will be traveling with a local Sherpa pastor and others to various Sherpa villages, reaching believers and unbelievers who speak Nepali and those of a Tibetan dialect. It is less common that missionaries visit these peoples and areas due to the amount of trekking required to reach them. We will visit and encourage a number pastors and their congregations in these regions, hold pastors conferences, Lord-willing a youth conference or two (if enough funds are raised), and a children’s ministry training conference for these churches, helping to train and bolster them in their personal walks with Jesus Christ, individually, as a congregation and also in their outreach and evangelism with other Nepalis.
I thank you for your support this year and i pray Gods blessing on each of you!
