Friends and Family!
As many of you know I have been living in Hungary since September attending Calvary Chapel Bible College. I have started the School of Missions program, which focuses mainly on equipping students for mission work. Part of this program is a 40-day outreach to a different country, to get hands on experience. I am excited to announce that I am heading to Bahrain over the winter break to serve alongside an amazing family.
This past semester has been full of new adventures, meeting many great people and lots of stretching and learning. In October I had the privilege to travel to Cyprus and serve there for 10 days. During this time, the team and I put together a kids program that we led for all the kids at a conference. This conference was for Missionaries who are living in the Middle East, to come and get filled up. During this conference I had a family come to me and invite me to be a part of what they are doing in Bahrain.
With many options to think about for my 40 day outreach, came lots of prayer and seeking God for the right place for me to go. Bahrain is a beautiful island in the Middle East that is in need of the love of Jesus. The country is very open to religion, and respect the church and family that I am going to stay with. The family I am staying with are part of the church plant, with the husband being the pastor and the wife is in charge of the children's ministry. With this I will be able to have many opportunities to serve within the church. I am excited to join in the kids and youth ministry, especially with the AWANA club. Not only will I serve within the church but I will also get to help homeschool two little boys, and experience the muslim culture.
I believe that God has called me to take this step of faith, to continue to grow me in new ways. This trip will have its challenges, but will also be something I will remember forever. I know God has a great plan, and I am excited to see all He has instore while I am in Bahrain.
I invite you to join me in prayer. Please be praying for safety, good health, and that God will continue to provide every need. Along with prayer, it is with a humble heart that I ask for financial support. I am so grateful for all the support I have received in the past, and God has used that support in amazing ways. The cost of this outreach is $2,000.
I ask that you not give just because you are reading this letter, but only if God is calling you and putting it in your heart to join me on this journey.
Thank you so much for considering joining me in prayer and in this process of watching God work with in the next few months.
Blessings, Lyndsie Upton
