On January 6, 2018, the beloved Marts family got the news that their 3rd child, Leo, had been diagnosed with leukemia. While the doctor’s prognosis was positive, the treatment plan for Leo is difficult and extensive, lasting over 3 years. The Marts family has a long road ahead of them, coupled with the fact that Desiree delivered their 4th child, Judah, on January 10, 2018, just 4 days after Leo's diagnosis and 2 days after he started chemo.
Damien and Desiree are full-time missionaries and are supported primarily by private donors. They are beloved by all who know them, and are lights to the Hickam Chapel community even in the midst of this personal darkness. Now, more than ever, they can use our prayers and financial support as they juggle the expenses of chemo treatments and caring for a newborn.
Please join me in lifting up healing prayers for Leo, prayers of peace, comfort, sanity, and discernment for Damien and Desiree, prayers to cover Peter and Johanna as their parents juggle the tasks of caring for a newborn and a sick child, prayers for Judah to grow healthy and strong, and prayers for God to provide the financial means to cover all medical expenses that won’t be covered by their insurance company.
**Due to an anonymous donor, all trasaction fees from this site will be reimbursed, so that 100% of money donated will go directly to the Marts family.
