Meet Addison. This fun-loving girl who is obsessed with the Trolls movie and was even a Troll for Halloween! She also loves to go swimming, swing, and go on walks around the neighborhood. Addison enjoys visiting the zoo to see the animals and pet them.
Her mom recently adopted her from foster care and has learned quickly how being held makes Addison feel loved and secure. Addison’s diagnoses include cerebral palsy, cortical vision impairment, hydranencephaly, and she is non-ambulatory. Despite her disabilities, she still has so much to offer. Her mom notes that she is silly and loves to play tricks on her teachers at school and laughs about it.
A preschool sized carrier would make a big difference in Addison’s quality of life. Her mom shares more about this, “Sometimes it is difficult to run in to the store for a quick errand because I have to unload the stroller or her wheelchair and transfer her and that makes the trip much longer. I’ve noticed that she loves to be carried close to me while walking around but she gets heavy after a while. A baby carrier would help me be able to carry her close to me and go on walks, go to the beach, or even run a quick errand to the store. She loves to be snuggled close to her mama and her head control has gotten better since I’ve started carrying her more and more.
Here is where YOU come in. You can help by providing Addison and her family with the gift of babywearing. Our goal is to raise $115 to provide them with a toddler sized ergonomic Kinderpack carrier that will meet her needs and allow Addison to #babyweartothrive.
Lift Me Up, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing ergonomic babywearing carriers to families who have children with disabilities. It was founded in 2014 and is led by a Physical Therapist with board certification in pediatrics. Lift Me Up is entirely volunteer driven and made possible by donations from the community and babywearing businesses. Thank you for being a part of our mission!
The Carrier Connection by Lift Me Up is a way for you to join the #babyweartothrive movement. We feature families through this Carrier Connection campaign so you can learn their stories and support them personally. These families have a special need for larger sized carriers so older toddlers or preschoolers can also receive the benefits of babywearing. These types of carriers are more costly and more difficult to come by than carriers sized for infants and smaller children. Lift Me Up has recently partnered with Kindercarry to help make our Carrier Connection successful so even more families can babywear to thrive.
Addison's campaign will be live for 30 days. Once the $115 goal is met, your donation will be deposited. If the campaign is not fully funded within the 30 days, your donation will not be deposited and we will be unable to purchase the carrier.
All money raised from this fundraiser will go directly to providing an ergonomic carrier for Addison’s family. If funds exceed the goal, all extra funds will be allocated to the next Carrier Connection family.
Lift Me Up is run by 100% volunteers; it’s important to us that every one of your dollars goes towards helping families who have children with disabilities #babyweartothrive.
