My name is Kara Themistol. My husband is the child of two Haitian immigrants. Over the last few years, we have realized a deep and lasting conviction to establish a life in Haiti to be a part of community and to use our gifts to serve the community. My professional background is in nursing, so I am using my gifts to partner with a local clinic called Clinique Fountaine D'Espoir (meaning "fountain of hope clinic"). Clinique Fountaine D'Espoir is a nurse owned and operated medical clinic in the Nord Ouest Department of Haiti. The clinic was established to meet a need for competent, compassionate care. The clinic provides consultation, medication (within regulatory guidelines), medical services, and referral services.

My goal with this fund raising campaign is to help the clinic gain improved access to necessary supplies, tools, and resources to better serve the community. Money recieved will be used soley for that purpose - whether by funding transportation and shipping costs of supplies and equipment, purchasing necessary supplies and equipment, and providing a fund for patients struggling to pay a balance. Any additional funds will go toward future goals of improving access to water and electricity and completing a building of patient rooms.
