Supporting Karen Burleson Cancer Treatment
Hello all,
My mom, Karen Burleson, is bravely battling Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. She found this out after dealing with chest pains and difficulty walking in late January. This resulted in having to go to the emergency room.
Thanks to God’s grace and current medical advancements, the cancer was detected, and she was able to begin treatment at KU Medical Center. She is currently going through physical therapy there before she returns home to continue chemotherapy treatment here in Joplin.
As she faces this challenging journey, the mounting costs of hospital stays, treatments, and future medical bills are becoming overwhelming.
We’re reaching out to our community for help to ease this financial burden so my mom can focus on her health and recovery. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a difference in supporting her fight.

Hello all,
My mom was brought home on Monday from the hospital by my brother/ her son. However, due to a scheduling issue my mom had to go back to Kansas City on Tuesday. Thankfully, because of the generosity of Shannon, my boyfriend’s mom, my mom and my two night stay was provided. My mom had to go back to Kansas City for a chemotherapy appointment and injection the day after.
My mom is fairing well after this round of chemotherapy. She is predictably tired, is loosing hair and feels somewhat weak after treatment. My mom’s walking is improving, and hopefully will continue to improve.
