The last three years have been a whirl wind from starting college to playing college basketball. I am currently in my Junior year at Gordon College in Boston. Over the last three years I have been studying business administration and recreation, sport, and wellness. I have been able to learn so much since coming to school at Gordon and once I graduate in 2020 I want to continue my education by going for my master’s degree in early education.
On top of taking classes and working I have been playing on the women’s basketball team here at Gordon. This year my teammates and I were able to grow our program and cannot wait to compete next season. From being on this team God has grown me in so many ways through my teammates, coaches, and administration. I am so thankful for the opportunity I have had to participate at the colligate level. College basketball has brought many very good times and well as some very hard times, but everyone of those experiences has pushed my faith and ultimately drawn me closer to God.
At school part of the process of graduating is experiencing some time working and observing in your field. This summer I have the incredible opportunity to be an intern at Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) in Silicon Valley, California. FCA is an organization that is dedicated to seeing the world transformed by Jesus Christ through the influence of coaches and athletes.
As an intern I will get to develop physically, intellectually, and spiritually through FCA. God has been growing my faith through my different things, some good and some bad, but each of them has shown me that the plan He has for me is far greater than anything I could ever imagine. This opportunity would allow me to be pushed in ways I have never been before and allow me to do it with others who are dedicated to growing their faith and mine through sport.
By doing this internship I will get to meet top leaders in the Silicon Valley, see how national sports franchises operate, participate in leadership training, and serve at their high school camp at UCLA. These are just some of the experiences that will be used to expand my knowledge and skills. I am so excited to be able to have this unique internship and see what God has for me through this.
If you feel lead to support my internship financially you can give online through Give, Send, Go or give through cash or check. If you would like to give my cash or check email me at firstname.lastname@example.org for my mailing address. This internship is completely supported through people who invest in my opportunity to participate in FCA.
As I go on to this trip I would appreciate your support through prayer. If you could be praying for safety in my travels, that God will supply the needs for this trip, and that God will use this opportunity to grow my faith and leadership skills, so I am prepared for whatever he has for me to do.
I am so thankful that you are taking the time to read this letter and considering helping partner with me to be apart of Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
