Dear Friends and family,
It is with great sadness that I share with you that our oldest son, Holt, has passed away. Yes, Holt battled a disease all of his life but he was living each day to the fullest and to the best of his ability. In no way was this expected at this time. I do know that things are not always done on our terms. Holt had a brilliant mind. There wasn’t any subject you could ask him about that he couldn’t respond with an educated answer and in depth knowledge. Holt was the most determined person you could ever meet. Holt had a kind spirit always thinking of others and not ever wanting to be a bother. He did not ask for much and I always told people “ if he says he can’t do it, that means he truly can not do it “. Trust me, if Holt could make it happen, he would always find a way. Holt had a great sense of humor and was mature beyond his years from a young age. Holt loved his family and friends. He loved it when Hallie could visit with all of her antics and stories. If Holt were here, one thing he would tell us is to make sure Zane was ok and had whatever he needed. He and Zane were rooming together at a new facility and were just getting settled in. I knew Holt liked it better from his other place but his one concern was that he just wanted to make sure Zane liked it ok. We all miss Holt terribly. I will forever miss our late night visits and late night talk shows. Holt was well versed in the politics of the day and I loved the laughs we shared over the late night humor. Holt loved Clemson Tigers and he and Jim were able to watch all the championship wins together. Sometimes that meant a drive all the way to Pittsburgh from SC just in time for the game. That is just how we roll and so thankful we did. Holt would never have asked but he always said, “thanks Dad for coming!” There is so much more to say for Holt. I want to add more later as my emotions allow. For now, thank you for visiting. Please leave a message in honor of Holt. If you desire to donate in memory of Holt, all funds will be used for Zane’s care and quality of life.
Thank you for all of your prayers and support,
Sandy and Jim Brinson
