I remember the first time Mila couldn't make it up the stairs without huffing and puffing. That was back in 2017,  not long after we found out she had cancer. She had surgery and remission was the result. We threw her a big surprise party. 7 months later the cancer came back. It felt like a punch to the gut, yet there we all were—Mila included—standing strong despite every curveball life threw at us.

Fast forward to today and Mila's strength has been tested in ways none of us could have imagined. She now spends most days resting or receiving care at a nursing facility in Washington . Her mobility is severely limited, each day posing new challenges as the cancer continues its relentless march through her body.

But here’s what you should know about Mila: she's tough. Not just physically but mentally and spiritually too. She fights with everything within her because we all do—her children, grandkids, siblings... and cousins have jumped in to help. But this fight isn’t cheap. The costs of ongoing treatments, medication, travel for different doctor visits — it's overwhelming.

We've tried every possible treatment out there and yet the solution feels as elusive as ever. It’s a never-ending battle that has left us all feeling exhausted at times but what keeps us going is knowing we have each other and now you, dear friends and supporters! Your help can lighten this load for Mila and us family who are doing everything they can just to keep their heads above water in these tough times.
