For those in Hendersonville and surrounding areas who shop at Glenbrook Kroger, you may know Don Evans who pushes and collects your carts for you. You can't miss his laugh! He hasn't met a stranger yet.

After losing his mother and going through very hard times Don was found living in his van, and Kroger gave him a chance and blessed him with a job.

He has been working very hard ever since. His van was fixed, but then he was in an accident and it was totaled. Since then Don was blessed with an electric bike that he has been faithfully riding to work five days per week. You have probably seen him riding to work in his yellow reflector jacket. Even in the most recent ice storm Don made it. He is faithful and does everything he can to get to, and keep, this job.

Today, Don had an accident on his bike on Long Hollow Pike. Amazing people stopped and helped, and if you see this, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Don is now in the hospital with a broken femur/hip and will undergo hip replacement surgery in the morning.

Don is already very upset and worried about missing work and needing to pay rent. He will be going to a rehab facility after surgery for some time until he can be healed.

We are working to help Don through this storm.
