🌟 I never thought I'd be here, standing on the edge of hope with my heart in my hands. But sometimes life throws us into deep waters and we learn to swim or drown, right? That’s where I find myself today—a bit battered but not defeated. 😊

It was back in 2019 when everything changed. My partner, the father of my twins and co parent for 18 yrs, passed away suddenly. The shock left me grappling with more than just grief; it was a legal battle for our home and children. You see, even though we had been together for nearly two decades, we technically weren’t legally married. That meant I wasn’t recognized as their guardian in court papers... It felt like my world crumbled around me that day.

Fast forward to today, and while life has moved on with its cruel twists, it hasn't stopped surprising us either! Just a few years ago, we lost our house due to unforeseen circumstances—a fire that wiped away all our belongings including the only car we had left. It was like losing everything twice over, first emotionally then financially.

But here’s the kicker I met someone right before the fire and believe it or not he's stayed by my side through so many ups and downs—we never imagined being homeless in America would be something we'd face ever more less so soon! Despite my kids growing up and becoming independent souls, navigating life without a roof over our heads proved tougher than I ever anticipated. And it wasn't just about finding shelter for me or four walls and some safety; it was about keeping us together close to my children...our little bubble against the harsh winds of fate.

And yet amidst all this upheaval, there’s light—an unexpected flame,perhaps, but a beacon nonetheless. Meeting my fiance someone who loves me deeply, despite my broken map. His presence is like an anchor in these storm-tossed waters. Together with him, we've been trying to find our way back...one step at a time because sometimes you don’t need wings to fly but the courage to spread your arms wide open instead!

That’s why I am reaching out today, not just for myself or us as a family—but on behalf of all those who have lost their grounding and are struggling silently. Please help if you can. Every dollar counts when it comes from places that understand what heartache costs in real terms.
