In May of 2020 I graduated from the Great Lakes Maritime Academy with a U.S. Coast Guard Third Mate Unlimited Tonnage License. Prior to graduating I applied to volunteer with Mercy Ships one to two years out from the time of graduation. This would allow me to gain shipboard experience as well as raise funds for my time serving with Mercy Ships. However, with the onset of COVID-19, I was approached by Mercy Ships and asked to join the vessel early. So, on July 1st 2020 I will be flying to join the Africa Mercy in Tenerife, Spain for a minimum of three months. Once onboard I will serve as a 3rd officer helping to oversee the vessels annual maintenance as well as the safety of all persons onboard. Once the maintenance period is complete and travel restrictions lifted, I will serve as a navigation officer assisting in sailing the hospital ship to Dakar, Senegal where the ship will provide free life saving surgeries to the worlds forgotten poor. These surgeries will help to bring hope, healing, and the love of Christ to those who otherwise may never hear and to those who may not be able to receive the life saving surgeries they desperately need.
I am asking for your support through prayer, and if you feel led to do so, financially. No gift is to small and your prayers will be vital to the success of this mission.
