$25 DOLLAR CHALLENGE TO HELP CHILDREN GLOBALLY! WE INVITE YOU TO JOIN OUR MISSION OF COMPASSION AND LOVE.
COVID-19 has hit the global community, with victims including thousands of young children throughout the world. Some have been stricken and many others have lost parents and guardians due to the illness. In response, I am reaching out to ask for your help.
We are all overwhelmed because the crisis is so great. A friend who works at one of our Lutheran child boarding homes in India just shared, "Some children simply have no place to go and there is a critical need to help."
I ask myself: "In the midst of this global crisis, what can I do to make a difference in the life of even one child?" In response, I am comforted by the words of Mother Teresa: "We cannot change the entire world, but we can change that small part of the world in which we live."
Lutheran-affiliated and non-denominational Christian organizations have an urgent duty to provide food, medical care and preventative education to support children in want at hospitals, boarding homes and schools.
I invite you to join this mission of compassion and love. A gift of only $25 dollars will support a child for one week.
100% of all donations received will be designated to help children in need. Our church foundation in Tokyo, JELA (The Japan Evangelical Lutheran Association), will coordinate the sending of funds to mission partners - LWD - (Life with Dignity Cambodia), LWSIT (Lutheran World Service India), CRHP (Comprehensive Rural Health Project India) and LPGM (Lutheran Partners in Global Ministry - Minneapolis, MN).
Once the pandemic passes, I will be visiting several of our project sites in India and Cambodia. I look forward to seeing the smiles of the children we help and providing you with a first-hand update of our mission work.
Please help us care for these children.
"For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me…” (Matthew 25:35-36)
