I first had the opportunity to serve at Isaiah 55 Ministries in the summer of 2017, and I have gone back to Reynosa every summer since then. The mission of Isaiah 55 is very near and dear to my heart. A ministry that began as a school for the deaf has evolved, by the grace of God, into a community outreach ministry purposed to bring the light of Christ to a neighborhood in deep spiritual and physcial need. In years past, my team has focused on community renewal in the mission’s neighborhood, Aquiles Serdán through projects like painting the mission, filling potholes, and fixing up the baseball fields near the mission. Beyond physical renewal, one of the most meaningful and eyeopening experiences during my visits to Reynosa has been helping with the Vacation Bible School that is put on for the neighborhood kids. During these Bible Schools, I've had the opportunity to teach in Spanish and develop relationships with the neighborhood children, who are a signifcant part of my motivation to return.
This year I have been asked to serve as a summer intern with Isaiah 55 for 10 weeks beginning in June. This internship will involve aiding the full-time missionaries of Isaiah 55 with their ministry as well as leading volunteer groups in construction work and putting on Vacation Bible Schools for the neighborhood. I will also be assisting with a medical clinic, an art gallery night for the neighborhood and the weekly girls group, which is exciting to me as I have been building relationships with these girls through VBS during these past three years.
This task ahead will not be possible without the prayer and financial support of others. Isaiah55 has asked me to raise $3,375 to cover the cost of the internship. Please pray that God would provide for this need and that I would be humbled and in a position to be molded according to His purpose. Pray also, that God would use this time at home to equip me for the weeks in Mexico and that he would ultimately use me to spread the gospel to His kingdom.
Please contact me at email@example.com if you have any questions about the internship. Thank you for your support and interest in this part of my life. I am deeply grateful to God for this opportunity to serve Him!
