Earlier this year (2019) my in laws, Chris and Lisa were at church enjoying a Sunday morning service together, when my father in law Chris slipped out of service for a moment. When he didn’t come back to the service after an odd amount of time, my mother in law Lisa went to check on him - and found him incoherently staring off across the lobby. Upon trying to get his attention she realized he may be having a seizure, so he was taken by ambulance to the hospital. While it turned out that he thankfully did not have a seizure, the doctor ended up finding a mass on his brain during a routine scan - the pressure from the mass between the brain and the skull are what caused his seizure like episode. Just this month (October), the tests finally came back determining the mass was high-grade Glioma, and he is needing to undergo brain surgery in less than two weeks. The operation is lengthy and does not come without its risks - but we serve a mighty God and the Great Physician, and we know that He is going to have His hands on Chris now through recovery. With both the news of the mass/Glioma and now brain surgery coming so unexpectedly, there is even less time for Chris and Lisa prepare for the time off of work that will be required for both the operation and lengthy recovery. Because of this, we want to do all that we can to support them not only with our love and our prayers, but also financially as Chris is currently the sole provider for their family. I know they covet everyone’s prayers and intercession during this time, and should you feel led to give I know it would be such a tremendous blessing to them. “For wherever two or three are assembled in my name, I am there with them." - Matthew 18:20
While the family is still trying to process everything, we ask that you would follow along here for updates or message us directly with any questions instead of reaching out to Chris and Lisa directly during this time.
Many blessings and thanks,
Caleb & Morgan Marshall
