For those of you who know me, you know that asking for help, especially in the form of donation, is something that does not come easy. However, I know that in order to achieve my goal, asking for help is something I need to do!
Earlier this year, I became involved with an organization called Ovi Children's Hospital located in Migori, Kenya. Instantly I was drawn to this organization and their mission, and knew God was calling me to be involved.
"Our hospital is designed for the weakest of the weak. Orphans who would otherwise fall victim to the ailments of cancer, AIDS, severe malnourishment, malaria, and traumatic injury can now have hope through life-saving treatment and care inspired by the love Christ shows for His children. Our role is to administer compassionate medical care and pray over weak bodies to give the hope of life to the world's most vulnerable children."
What is so amazing about this organization, is to see the transformation of the children they save. They rescue babies that have been abandoned in fields, on the side of the road, or who live at orphanages that lack the financial and medical ability to give them the proper care their little souls deserve.
It has been a life-long dream to serve on a missions trip, but I never thought it was possible. I truly believe that every path in my life has led me here, and serving others through mission work is what God has designed for my life. I am nervous, but excited, and this January I will be traveling to Kenya to spend a week visiting and serving Ovi Children's Hospital in person! While there, I will join the team and lend a hand wherever they may need my help. But in order to get there, I need YOUR help. As this is a non-profit organization, serving on a missions trip comes at the financial cost of the person traveling. The total cost is over $4500, which includes all travel and medical expenses I have encountered thus far.
Asking for help especially in the form of donation is not an easy thing to do. If you are able to donate to this cause, it would provide me with the opportunity to help this organization continue to carry-on its mission, while showing these tiny precious souls that not only does God love them but someone on the other side of the world loves them as well. Thank you for reading and please let me know what questions you may have!
