My home & property suffered the hit of a tornado this past September. Thankfully, I was not home at the time! But coming home that evening to a disaster was quite a shock, and there has been so much chaos in the process of repairs, clean-up, rebuilding, insurance, and contractors. SO many people have offered and wanted to help! But aside from immediate specific projects that family assisted with at the time, there wasn't too much anyone else could do. I just had to figure it out as I went along and take a day at a time.
I was out of my house for four months while repairs took place on my home, and then moved back home while plannning the rebuild of my garage, which was totaled after being lifted off the foundation and set back down a couple of feet away (in true Wizard of Oz fashion).
The one shortfall was the insurance coverage for the rebuilding of the garage. I found out the week after the tornado that it was only partially insured, so I took the settlement and had to contract out the rebuild myself. After budgeting everything as best as I could to rebuild as close to the insurance number as possible and pulling finances from wherever I could, I still came in about $2,500 short of the total cost.
If you are able and willing to help with this last need, it would be so appreciated to get this final cost taken care of. Any little bit helps :)
Natural disasters are just that - disasters. And it's been a wild adventure with lots of ups and lots of downs. But I am thankful for all the blessings and that I am safe & protected. Thank you for however you're able to help! Blessings to all.
