What an amazing, busy, crazy, miracle of a day. Matthias did amazing this weekend. He passed test after test and before you know it they are saying he might be able to come home as early as Monday if he keeps going at the pace he was.
Then he finally breastfeeds all night last night and BOOM!! How you would you feel about him going home today? WHAT!?! It was a bit of a Tetris level 100 to get it all to fit with adding multiple bags, Matthias and Brittney in the already packed van, but we were not leaving without them :)
God is amazing!! Our friends are amazing!! We are so blessed.
Now we still have to keep a a close eye on him and he has a lot of follow up appointments starting Tuesday, but he is Home!!!
Our hearts are still heavy with all the other families with babies in the NICU. They pray and hope for their children to improve and survive. We know Matthias still has some potential challenges ahead and possible complications, but we also know Matthias belongs to a powerful and loving God.
Please continue to pray for Matthias and Brittney as they overcome hurdles and continue to heal. God is good, all the time. Praise and glory to our Lord God Almighty!!
I can't thank everyone enough for all the generous gifts and offers to help. I'm back at the home front to take care of a few things before heading back down to La Crosse for the weekend. It has been amazing to watch and see how God uses people to bless others and we certainly feel very blessed. I picked up my family leave paperwork from the office today and now will focus on getting the hotel finalized, dog boarded, and some easy food to take with. Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts.
Matthias continues to fight on. He had to be put back one oxygen after being taken off earlier today. It's an up and down fast changing rollercoaster ride. The nurses and staff have been great with him and very helpful. One day at a time.
