We are sad to say that Amy has lost her battle with Cystic fibrosis and has graduated to partying with Jesus. She will be missed by everyone she has come in contact with, she was always a light and encouragement even during some of her darkest days.
We are keeping this campaign open, as now more than ever the financial strain will be felt. There are funeral costs and hospital bills for the Scafidi family that we would love to see covered by friends and family. We don’t want to see the family have to bear this financial burden alone.
Please continue to pray and lift up the family as they struggle through this time of loss.
Thank you for your generous gifts.
We have know the Scafidi family for years and years. We have seen Amy struggle with her Cystic fibrosis and a lung transplant and many hospital stays, all the while staying so positive and an inspiration to everyone that comes in contact with her. Her sister Sarah has been by her side in the hospital. This was Amy's recent update on Facebook.
"Amy is being moved out of the ICU! She will be moving to an acute unit today. Amys MRI's are coming back showing a lot of improvement. The doctors are incredibly happy with the progress she's making and how much her brain has healed. She had a few days of delirium and intense confusion (she wasn't sure where she was or what was happening) but she's talking, working on walking, and the delirium is clearing up. She also had her feeding tube fixed, which means she's going to start getting the nutrition she needs to get strong again. The doctors were amazed by her recovery and said she's a very special case. That is the power of all your prayers and positive energy being sent our way. "
"When Sarah was asked what could be done to help them in this journey this was her reply: Honestly what I need most is rides to and from the hospital, Uber and Lyft digitital gift cards are the most helpful since I sometimes need to be there at a moments notice at all hours. It's ends up being more cost effective then driving their and paying for parking.
Also meals are always welcome. Groceries are obviously expense. Also I end up eating most of my meals at mgh if I'm there for 8 - 12 hours, which is fine, but even more expensive. So food and meals sent are always welcomed with open arms.
Lastly the message and words of encouragement I've been receiving mean a lot to me. Knowing we are in so many people hearts and prayers really lifted me up. Thank you from the bottom of my heart"
So please take a minute to pray for, give to, and share this campaign. Any amount is very appreciated and will be a blessing. Thanks for being a generous Giver.
