I hope this letter finds you in good health and spirits. My name is Michelle, I am 47 years of age. Writing to you today is both a necessity and a step outside my comfort zone. I am reaching out to share a personal challenge and to kindly ask for your support.

Recently, I have been faced with a medical condition, stage 5 chronic kidney disease. Family is extremely important to me. I am a mother of 5 beautiful children who I am doing my very best to raise, support and be there for. As a parent with a chronic illness I battle symptoms that limit my ability to perform physical daily tasks. I push myself each day to make this all possible because of how much my family means to me but there are days that are much more challenging than others. My job is very physical and I am grateful for my job but some days I can’t even get myself going because of how weak I feel and much I am hurting. Unfortunately, the outcome of my more challenging days puts me behind on a lot. The cost of day to day expenses/bills has become a towering hurdle for me and my family.
