Hello, I'm Donna Anderson. My daughter, Amber Fisher and her family have had tough times since last January. Her husband, Jon developed Rectal Cancer. Since he is 37 yrs the doctor asked if there was cancer in his family. Yes, there was and had we known screening would have been much earlier. Both our families have helped financially and emotionally for over a year and it never seems enough. The one hospital bill for one of his more lengthy stays was over $145,000. His first round of chemotherapy was over $69,000. They have been a one income family for some time now and trying hard to make ends meet. They have 3 active children that they are trying as much as possible to let life continue as untouched. They are all active in sports, the boys, Thomas 9 and Jacob 7, love their baseball and Addison 13 loves basketball. And they are quite the all stars too if grandma can boast!
Jon loves baseball also. There are many days he would love to help coach and attend games or practices. However, after chemotherapy, radiation, 4 surgeries and now chemo again, his strength and attitude wears on him.
That said and with bills piling up it is getting more and more difficult for them to keep their heads up. We hated to ask others but if there is anyway people can give a little here and there to help them out we'd all be greatly appreciative.
As a side note: Please remember to have yourself screened if there is any history of cancer in your families!
Thank you's, prayers and blessings to all ahead of time.
