My wife has been very, very sick with many complex diseases and infections. She has been diagnosed with over 25 different diagnoses. All of which are extremely severe and on their own debilitating. HER BODY IS SHUTTING DOWN. She has a rare disease called Mast Cell Activation Disorder. We can NOT even begin treatment to try to heal some parts of her body and brain until we are in a sterile environment(like a hospital), but without scents and smells and chemicals as her body will produce stroke like and debilitating symptoms that will cause her body to go into a shock like state. She suffers daily for the past 4 years. She was exposed to mold after she had our daughter. Before that, she was a healthy, happy, God loving wife and mother. She loved mornings, loved gardening, loved being the best mama in the world. Loved cooking, loved helping others. She dedicated all of her time trying to make others happy and to our daughter. I was a Marine and Federal Air Marshal. I have proudly served this country since I was 18 yrs old. Honored to do it.
Our little girl was exposed to mold around the same time my wife was in a brand new home that we built with a home builder down in Florida. Our little girl is now displaying symptoms that my wife was displaying in the beginning. We immediately had Harper evaluated and now she has very very high markers for celiac disease, along with high tumor markers, which we are Praying is due to the inflammation in her intestines. Harper has to have a procedure done at Boston Childrens Hospital, but we are not sure if our insurance will cover the care at Boston. We will keep everyone updated on our daughter, Harper, as we figure more out. My wife's Prayer is that God give everything to her instead of Harper. Leah is very worried about our little girl because she knows the nightmare she has gone through and she Prays daily for God to protect our little one always.
My wife's symptoms became worse and worse over the past 4 years. She has not been in public besides hospitals since 2015....bedridden for most of the time...wheelchair bound with oxygen and IV in her arm. She has blood draws weekly for the past 4 years. Her state of health is really, really scary to be honest. She is holding on and trying every single day because she does not want to leave Harper and I.
I had to resign to take care of my family. We lost everything of monetary value. And friends and family have been helping to keep us fed and medical care. My wife is at the point that her body is shutting down and she is on home care with a central venous access line in her arm. She had to do the surgery with NO numbing or lidocaine because she may have had a bad reaction. So now, her specialist, Dr. Dempsey's advice to us is that we need a safe space...a small safe addition that we began building and Leah applied to a Charity back in September to get the funds we needed. She was on constant communication with them for 6 months. She found out two nights ago that they will not be able to help us. We are now at a stage that we have the addition framed up and need the rest of the funds to finish it. We are pretty devastated. We are worried about Harper. We are Praying Leah's body holds on.
This is an article below, written about Leah and our family from Patient Worthy. My wife is one of the most severe cases the doctors have seen. It seems not many can help her. We have been all over the country. She has tried every treatment like a warrior...she is still trying, but she is tired. She just wants to be a mother. Wants to walk outside hand in hand with our little girl. Her Psalm that she chants during every lonely procedure, every time she is not able to breathe, or in unbearable pain is, "God is within her, she will not fall. God will help her at the break of day."- Psalm 46:5
We need Prayers...we need money to help finish this space, we need our little girl to be healthy and her mama to have some life breathed back into her. We need God.
