Jaynie and Jonah have a passion for spreading the Gospel through dance, finding that dance connects people emotionally to feel and experience God's love in a unique way. They are traveling with the Dramatic Truth Trainee Company to Project Dance New York City, in April, to share God's love through dance in Times Square. For such a time as this, they have trained their craft for over 5 years, honing their skills to bring honor and glory to God.
Jaynie's journey: Jaynie began dancing at the age of 3, like most 3 year old little girls. We lived in VA at the time, but by the time she was 8, we moved to MO. We quickly found Dramatic Truth, a Christian ballet school with other classes. Jaynie told us she was done with ballet, and wanted to try hip hop. So, she did but it was not for her. :-) The very next year, we enrolled her in ballet. Ballet did not come naturally to her, but she worked VERY hard and soon fell in love with dancing and performing. She tested into the upper school at Dramatic Truth and progressed as normal. At times, she has watched her friends get solos and special parts when she hasn't, but it has not stopped her! She is committed to working hard for the craft that she loves so much, trying new things and seeing what is out there, so she can find exactly what she wants to do for her future in dance. She is currently in the top level of Dramatic Truth, taking about 25 hours/week of classes. She is also an apprentice for the DT Company and in the Trainee Company.
Two years ago as I was watching her perform, I kept seeing the word GRACEFUL but I didn't know what the Lord was telling me. Within 12 months, half a dozen people at different times, came up to me and said, "Jaynie is so GRACEFUL. I love watching her dance!" After the first person said that, I thought, well, that's cool. After the 6th person, however, I knew what it meant, that she was created to be the GRACEFUL one in dance. She's not the powerhouse on stage but she is the GRACEFUL one and I for one, LOVE that! Recently, 2 other friends came up to me and said that the Lord has her right now, hiding her, to mold her as He sees fit, but soon she will be out in front, bringing the Gospel to people through dance.
Jonah's journey: Jonah began gymnastics at the age of 4 and he quickly excelled as he is a natural with physical activities. When we moved to MO, we didn't know of a gymnastics place so we enrolled him in the same hip hop class Jaynie was in. But, he didn't love it and we soon found out the ballet school had tumbling. The next year, we put him in the tumbling class and it was a perfect fit. After a year or so in tumbling, the teacher told us that he had naturally pointed FEET and we should consider putting him in ballet. It took a few months to make that decision but he joined ballet the following September. He was the only boy in the class and he was quite shy but he quickly fell in love with it. He is currently in the top level at Dramatic Truth, taking 25 hours/week of classes, still the only guy in his class and has proved to be an amazing ballet dancer. He is also an apprentice for the DT Company and in the Trainee Company.
Last year, 4 different people, at 4 different times, came up to me and said, "Jonah's FEET are going to go many places and bless people for Jesus." Wow!! I wept when I heard it the 4th time because I knew then this was from the Lord. Since then, he has been given scholarships to camps, he has been asked to dance in other company's performances and has been told he's annointed. He loves to perform and said he's most comfortable when he's on stage. He simply comes alive!
They need your help! Please consider partnering with these two amazing dancers as they are walking into the heart of New York City to share God's love in Times Square.
