I am so excited to share with you the wonderful news that I have the amazing opportunity to serve in a mission's trip to Guyana, South America this Spring Break from March 2nd through March 9th with Palm Beach Atlantic University!!!
A team of 9 students, including myself, will be living with an organization called “Love Missions” who primarily serves human trafficking victims. While there, we will be spending our days visiting local schools and speaking about prominent issues such as drug/alcohol abuse, human trafficking, and suicide. Guyana is ranked first in suicides per capita worldwide. Our goal is to build relationships with the victims we will be working with and give hope to a hopeless country. We will also be traveling by boat to an interior village called Supiruta to minister and do outreach programs with the children and people living there. As someone who is Guyanese, I feel honored to be able to help my country’s people. God is going to do powerful things in Guyana, and I want to let you know how you can help too. It is said that everyone is called to missions – either to go or to send.
The trip is going to cost around $1500, and my team is trusting in God entirely to provide this. The deadline for the total amount is Sunday, February 10th and any donation is appreciated! Aside from donations, prayers are what we really need going on this missions trip and ministering to the people of Guyana. Prayer is a powerful thing and my team, and I will need plenty of it as we prepare for our time overseas.
