We are a team of six people from Church of the Cross in Fairview, Pennsylvania. We have worked tirelessly in the Dominican Republic for 10 years. Our mission has been to change lives in the poorer communities by providing a water purification system and all this is done for the glory of God. We are associated with Living Waters for the World-an international and well-known 501c3 organization.
In August of 2018, we successfully helped complete the installation of a Reverse Osmosis water filtration system which generates approximately 600 gallons of water per day. This project is in San Juan de la Maguana and the system is run by staff and lay persons from the church-Ministerio Centro de Desarrollo Integral Pan de Vida and the Compassion International School associated with the church. They are actively looking to upgrade their system at some point and buy more tanks to generate even more water to meet the increasing demand. Something very exciting is they reported they have seen a noticeable change in the health of the children especially seen in the attendance at the school.
OUR 2019 PROJECT IS: Installation of a Reverse Osmosis water filtration system for the orphanage, Fundacion Red Misericordia. It is located in Santiago de los caballeros, Dominican Republic. This orphanage houses more than 120 children.
Clean improved water is essential for children's health and mental development. In the Dominican Republic, only 74% of its 10 million people have improved water. The rural areas still use unclean water for drinking and their daily activities. Our orphanage project will benefit the children's long term health, their ability to learn, and provide employment opportunities that continue beyond our project's completion.
Our team is seeking $25,000 for this project. Your contribution/gift will cover the cost of the Reverse Osmosis system which includes installation and training for the system operators and ancillary help and also teach the teachers to educate the community about the proper use of purified water. Another very important component is to emphasize biblical principles that Jesus Christ IS the Living Water.
We need funding secured by March 30th, 2019. We appreciate and thank you for your support of this worthy project and will keep you updated on its progress. Please feel free to contact us with any inquiries.
