I am writing to you today to tell you about a journey I plan to take. This young man in the picture below is Regan. Regan is one of our newest child sponsors Brenda and I support through Compassion International. He lives in Uganda which is in east Africa. I have been feeling led to make the 6800 mile trek to meet him and visit the other ministries Compassion leads and/or supports in his country. We will be visiting a center called the Survival Program that rescues at-risk pregnant women and babies through age 1. We will also visit a program called the Youth Development Strategy, which prepares adolescents for life as self-sufficient adults amongst other critical programs that serve critical needs.
The trip will take place from March 1, 2019 to March 12 (12 Days). This amazing opportunity was not a planned event for our family. The trip cost will be about $4500 for which I need to pay in full by the end of November. I am looking for help to raise funds for this experience to follow God’s call. If you would like to pledge financial support but cannot do so between now and then that is fine too. There is no pressure to support this trip for me financially but will also be coveting your thoughts and prayers before and during the time.
I am traveling alone with a group of people I have never met and I myself have really never been out of country. You could say I am going “all in” and I’m hopeful you will also.
