Do you believe in “Signs and Wonders?” We do. Recently our belief in them was fortified as our church faced the decision as to whether or not we should rebuild our Cobb Mountain Community Fellowship on Cobb destroyed by the Valley Fire, September 12, 2015.
Understanding the need for a church fellowship on Cobb and aware of the spiritual contribution made by the Cobb church in the past you would think that would be an easy decision. Since the Valley Fire, however, the cost of construction is estimated to have increased by 34% and two other major Lake County Fires and the Tubbs Fire in Sonoma County have made finding local contractors difficult. Still the need for us to reconnect with our community remained so strong it could not be disregarded.Understanding Scripture’s council to count the cost before building (Luke 14:28) and calculating that the funds we have available are well short of the amount required, we did something that we infrequently do, we asked the Lord for a sign to make it clear to proceed. His response was a definite, “YES!”
First, the building permit that we had applied for was issued on "Good Friday," May 30, 2018. Second excavation begain on "Ascension Day," the day the Christian Church celebrates Jesus ascensiion into heaven..On Pentecost Sunday, we received a generous donation from someone not directly connected to our Fellowship who had heard about our need.
Please consider partnering with us in our endeaver to return and once again provide the Christian fellowship so suddendly stolen from our Mountain home.
