For those of you lucky enough to know Corey, you know that she is one of the most kind, generous, and joyful people. That joy has been dimmed recently with the loss of her mom in February. Now she is facing news of a terminal illness and rapid decline of her beloved best friend (and de facto emotional support dog) Bodee. I’ve always joked that Corey is Bodee’s support human because that is the insane level of closeness that they share. Bodee was intended to be her parents’ dog, but when Corey visited, he latched on and wouldn’t leave her side. It was like he was meant for her all along. No one knows exactly how old he is…Corey has been telling people for years that he’s “8-ish” 🤪

If anyone would like to contribute money to help her with vet bills, I would really like to show her some support. She will be facing putting him down in the next few days.  She has spent a few months away from work in the Emergency Department earlier this year pouring herself into taking care of her family back home in California. She only just found out about what’s happening to Bodee after returning home and trying to catch her breath, and I know it must feel like she can’t catch a break. Bodee has been her family in DC for so long and a constant support. I’m hoping that she can worry less about bills and missed work and more about herself and time with Bodee.
