On March 23 my wife had emergency surgery for a large egg size tumor. The medical staff was not sure if she would walk and talk and was surprised she woke up doing so well. Even though she does have some issues with both she is walking and talking just not like the old Sandi. Even though she has to use a walker, has speech and memory issues we consider ourselves blessed because things could have been much worse. I am asking for help because we did not have insurance and she was turned down for disability and the neurosurgeon who did the surgery would not take the stitches out that went from ear to ear until we paid 2300 and agreed to pay the rest in two payments. He wanted over 7,000 dollars paid in 3 months and would not take smaller payments. Needless to say we felt like she was taken hostage. She is on antiseizure meds and I am very thankful because of the stress from that situation she had seizures for hours that day. When our church found out they paid the first 2,300 dollars and a friend sent some money so the next month is paid. They did give us an extra month so the last two months are only 1500 dollars each. I am asking for more because she has to keep seeing him at least every 3 months and we know there will be money needed for those appointments. I am also asking for more than the 3,000 dollars needed because she can no longer work and run our antique store and I am only working a couple hours a week restocking a business just down the street from where we live because I'm taking care of her. Also, the only thing that matters in the end is she is alive so we will get through all the trials that are coming with this emergency. I would like for everyone to know that she has been very postive and doesn't complain that she can't take care of herself. She considers herself to blessed to sit around and look at the bad that has happened.
Thank you and Blessings,
