My name is Andrew Gomes and my wife is Josefin from Finland. We are raising finances to help cover the cost of necessities needed for our vision in reaching the youth and pastors in Hawaii.
My Grandmother,Joyce Kainoa, passed away in November of 2015. During one of the trips to her home (only accessible by boat or helicopter)on the northshore of Moloka'i, the Lord spoke and I heard a small voice saying,"come home".
After much prayer we felt great peace about moving back to the island of Moloka'i and living at her home. Shortly after I had a dream and in that dream there was a great revival within the islands and amongst the youths, and it started on Moloka'i. My wife and I have a great passion for the youth and seeing them come to the Father. So we decided because of the location of where we will be living and our passion for youth we decided to open our home to be a youth retreat center. The youth retreat center will include: cultural learning, hunting and fishing skills, communication skills and all being presented with Christ as the center. We then decided to dream bigger and open our home also to our pastors as a pastoral retreat center. Wanted to take our pastors and offer them a place where they can get rejuvenated and rested to continue on in the ministry that God has called them all to.
As of right now I finished my job working as head chef at a restaurant on Oahu and I am currently on tour throughout the states proclaiming the gospel and sharing the vision with youth and churches. My wife Josefin is currently in Finland finishing up work as a teacher and will be connecting with me once her spousal visa gets approved.(which is also what we are praying for).
God has been such a provider in this journey for the both of us and we are very excited as we would like to invite others to be a part of this ministry!! Thank you all so much for your support as well as your prayers as we know that the body of Christ is continuing to grow each day.
Much Mahalo(thank you) and aloha(love),
Josefin and Andrew Gomes
