This spring break I have the opportunity to go to Houston with a group of my fellow students from Brown University for a mission trip. Our team will be helping with the restoration of homes in some of the most vulnerable neighborhoods, as well as coming alongside local missionaries at YWAM Houston who have been caring for the homeless and marginalized in the area long before the storm hit. With more people falling into those categories and needing assistance, we will be those extra sets of hands to give their long term workers a break and help them extend their reach by distributing food, being available to those who need to talk, and serving in every capacity from food prep to home improvements.
I personally need $700 to make this trip a reality. This will cover costs of flight, transportation, food and any materials needed once we arrive. Any additional funds raised will be donated directly towards other workers and materials necessary for the continuing work of repairing houses rendered unlivable by the hurricane so that families can finally come home.
