Life can be incredibly unfair, and right now, Damien is facing one of the hardest battles of his life.

Damien is a good man, a devoted father, and an animal lover with a heart of gold. Two years ago, his world turned upside down when his fiancée walked away—not just from him, but from the eight dogs she left behind. Despite the hardship, Damien stepped up. He took care of every single one of them, making sure they were fed—even when that meant going without food himself.

But life didn’t get easier. After losing his job, he also lost his home. With nowhere left to turn, he made the painful decision to call animal control, ensuring the dogs would be taken care of rather than abandoned on the streets. It was the most responsible and humane choice he could make.

What he didn’t know was that this very act of compassion would come back to haunt him. Animal control opened a case against him for "animal abandonment"—even though he was the one who made sure the dogs were safely placed into their care.

Then, last week, everything took a devastating turn. While simply checking his mail, Damien was arrested—shocked to learn there was a warrant out for his arrest, all because he did the right thing. He is now sitting in jail, unable to be with his daughter, who misses him dearly.

We need to raise $5,000 to get Damien out on bond and help him fight this injustice.
